Hi, I’m Nicholos Whitlock! I am the owner here at Tired Dad Construction - your locally trusted home builder, servicing Denver, Lake Norman and surrounding areas. I have lived in Denver NC since January of 2001 and have grown up most of my life right here in the Lake Norman area. I have been working in Residential Construction since the ripe old age of 6 when my father (a carpenter of 35 years) first put a power saw in my hand! Fast Forward a few decades and I am a father of 6 Wonderful Children ages 11 months to 10 years old and growing! I started my first construction company at 19 years old to put myself through undergrad and have loved every sweaty/ hard moment of working with my hands to build beautiful homes. Everyone has a job because they need to earn a living. But not everyone gets the privilege to do something they love and are passionate about. I do this job because of 2 seemingly simple reasons:
 

- The first, is that I LOVE the pride and satisfaction that comes at the end of a hard project when you look at a beautiful home or deck and are able to say “I made that, with these hands” it is a unique and defining sense of pride & accomplishment.

- The second reason is much closer to my heart. I mentioned earlier that I have 6 beautiful children. Abel, Carmen, Ben, Levi, Alissa, and my little princess Emily. As a father I have to be in 2 places all the time. I have to be present and active in my children's lives every day to teach them how to become happy and fulfilled adults who are capable of standing on their own and showing them both how much I love them as well as how to be confident and love themselves. At the same time, I am supposed to be out in the world earning and providing a better life for them. My job is to provide everything they need and some of what they want. This is for so many reasons a daunting and almost impossible task in today’s fast-paced world. Being a builder and business owner allows me to have the flexibility, and daily opportunity, to fulfill both of my fatherly duties to earn a Living, as well as being present in my children’s daily life teaching them about the pride and work ethic my father taught to me.
